FURNITURE AND MILLWORK FABRICATION
We are modern artisans, specializing in complex geometries derived from hand sketches, clay models and 3D scanned objects. What sets us apart is our combination of digital fluency and traditional craftsmanship which allows us to integrate functional millwork hardware such as doors, drawers, outlets and lighting into these organic forms without compromising their elegance.
Although every project is different, our process is typically as follows:
RFQ: You request a quote accompanied by some supplemental documents. These could include a photo of a scale model, an architectural drawing, a 3D model or even a hand drawing. The more information the better.
ESTIMATING: We work together to clarify the scope of work including materials, final dimensions, required functionality and which components if any are to be built or purchased elsewhere.
We issue a detailed estimate that forms the basis for the design if the project moves forward.
SHOP DRAWINGS: Once you approve the estimate we prepare shop drawings and samples for your approval. The shop drawing process can take anywhere from 2 days to 6 weeks depending on the complexity of the design and the degree of variation from the supplied materials. For example, the process of scanning a clay model, digitally modifying the form to suit the surrounding architectural conditions and adding compartments for storage will take much longer than drawing a traditional trestle table.
FABRICATION: Once the shop drawings and samples are approved we order material and begin translating our shared digital creation into something real. This process involves processing the raw material into components, sanding, finishing and final assembly.
DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION: We provide delivery and installation services in the greater New York City area. For projects farther afield we work with a third party white glove or freight company to ensure your project gets delivered safely.
